Origin & Registration

How Zephyr Education came to be and our journey to becoming a registered Australian charity.

In June 2013, a group of volunteers registered Zephyr Foundation as a Queensland charity after discovering that no government agency or not-for-profit was supplying school uniforms and other school essentials to many children who have to change schools because of domestic and family violence.

15 July 2014

Zephyr Foundation registered on the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Register (ACNC).

13 January 2015

Zephyr received endorsement by the Australian Taxation Office as a deductible gift recipient, as well as endorsement for charity tax concessions — income tax concessions, GST concessions and FBT exemption.

August 2016

Zephyr Foundation became an incorporated association under the Associations Incorporation Act 1981 (Qld). This necessitated a change of name — we chose Zephyr Education Inc to better describe our core purpose.
